GAC has announced the launch of the new Shadow Leopard sedan in the home market. The car, which is a direct competitor to the Kia Cerato in the performance of the GT Line, turned out to be cheaper and more powerful than the Korean model. For Shadow Leopard on the home market, they ask for a minimum of 98.8 thousand yuan (1.1 million rubles), while its top version costs 128.8 thousand yuan (1.44 million rubles). For comparison: the prices for the Kia Cerato GT Line in Russia reach 1.6 million rubles.
The Chinese novelty offers buyers a sporty appearance, the design of which is emphasized by a noticeable spoiler on the tailgate, a sloping roof and an elongated bonnet. The sedan also acquired several decorative inserts and a front bumper with large side air intakes. The interior of the Shadow Leopard is trimmed with faux leather, which has been "diluted" with contrasting stripes. Complete with the sedan, a digital instrument panel and a touchscreen monitor are offered, combined with each other to form a large screen. Like the GAC crossovers, the presented novelty has a wide transmission tunnel inside, which is not typical for cars of this class. Also, the sedan received a sports steering wheel with leather trim and many driver's assistants. In the interior of the Chinese novelty, carbon fiber inserts are provided, which also emphasizes the sports orientation of the car.
The Shadow Leopard is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. Its maximum output reaches 177 hp. with a pulling moment of 270 N * m. Cerato in the GT Line version is equipped with a 150-horsepower 2-liter "aspirated" engine. The Chinese model is also equipped with a 7-speed robotic gearbox.
