The GAC company, a few weeks after the official presentation, has published the exact date of the start of sales of the new AION S Plus. This model, presented in the same class as the Toyota Camry, will hit the home market on June 23rd. Unlike the Japanese sedan, the Chinese one is equipped with only electric motors. Moreover, both cars are comparable in size. The length of the AION S Plus is 4810 mm with a wheelbase of 2750 mm.
The Chinese novelty will offer buyers unique equipment in a certain sense. In particular, the electric sedan is equipped with a huge touchscreen monitor, which is more like a TV in size. Today, not a single representative of the business class, including models with an internal combustion engine, has such equipment. Also, the Chinese sedan is equipped with panoramic glazing with an area of 1, 9 square meters, a fully digital instrument panel, a digital multifunction steering wheel and leather seats. The upper window is complemented by electro-monochromatic technology, which is capable of blocking up to 99.9% of solar radiation into the cabin.
The GAC has not yet released a complete list of avionics. In the photos shown, you can see that the AION S Plus is also equipped with an engine start button, a dual-zone climate control system and an electronic parking brake.
The GAC will offer customers a choice of an electric sedan with three battery options, providing a range of 410, 510 and 602 kilometers, respectively. The Chinese model received only one electric motor with a declared maximum power of 204 hp. The GAC does not disclose either the charging speed or other characteristics of the novelty.
