Ford has been teasing us for a long time with the next-gen Ranger, which will likely be revealed in the coming months. It is closely related to the Everest model, which was recently spotted in tests in Europe. New spy photos have surfaced on the web for the first time giving us a peek inside the pickup, showing what the Ranger's interior might look like when it is officially unveiled by Ford.

New Ford Ranger

Photos show the interior, which is almost unchanged from the current generation Everest and Ranger (photo: motor1.com). Nothing closes the cabin, and there really is no reason for heavy camouflage. The dashboard is almost unchanged from the current models, although there are still slight differences. The gear lever sticking out of the center console is gone. It was replaced by a Ford rotary switch. There's also a drive mode dial, and the steering wheel looks like it has a new design.

The new dials stand out against the black interior and are attached to the center console in a slightly different way. The lack of camouflage and seemingly awkward layout of parts, including the electronic parking brake, suggest that this is not the final design of the SUV's interior. We expected to see more significant changes, although they could be hiding in another test car.

The next-generation Ranger will join the recently redesigned F-150 and all-new Maverick in the automaker's expanding truck lineup, sharing its platform with VW's future Amarok pickup. The transmission details remain unchanged. Although previous spy photos suggest a plug-in hybrid variant will be available alongside the sporty Raptor, as well as a few other engines. Ford is expected to unveil the Ranger later this year. We think it will go on sale in 2022, just like the 2023 model.
