American automaker Ford begins selling a new version of the Equator crossover with a different seating arrangement. The model will be seven-seater, but on the second row, instead of the usual one-piece sofa, the developer will install two separate armchairs. An opening is formed between them, which will facilitate landing back. In addition, there will be a similar version in which the footprints are arranged the other way around. Those. the second row will have a sofa, followed by two seats, which is a more familiar layout. All seats will be equipped with heating, ventilation and massive headrests for maximum comfort. Thus, Ford will offer a wider range of trim levels to its customers.
The new version of the car was unveiled at this year's Shanghai Auto Show. True, it is not yet clear whether it will differ in price from the rest of the modifications. Now the cost of the model, depending on the level of equipment, is in the range from 189,800 to 199,800 yuan, which in rubles is approximately from 2, 14 to 2, 26 million. This compares to the price of mid-range and top-end versions of the Nissan X-Trail.
As a reminder, the Equator has received a brand new Ford design. At the front, there is a large, rounded radiator grille with many chrome segments. Chery has already demonstrated something similar in its crossovers. Along the edges of the grille, there are thin strips of head optics with an LED layout. At the back, on the trunk lid, a small spoiler is visible, which is a continuation of the roof. The stern lanterns are solid here and taper towards the center. Between them is the manufacturer's logo. On the side, it is a typical Ford crossover with smooth body lines that look nice and harmonious.
The car received a rather large wheelbase - 2865 mm, and its length is almost 5 meters, which will allow you to comfortably accommodate passengers in the cabin. There will be no changes in technique. The new Ford Equator will still be equipped with a 224 hp 2.0-liter turbo engine. There is also one transmission - a six-speed "robot" with a double wet clutch.
