A few days ago, Honda made an official publication with the first image of the Passport Trailsport. Trailsport is both a modification that will greatly increase the off-road qualities of a car, and a separate sub-brand. Like the Subaru Wilderness and Toyota TRD Pro, it is exclusively dedicated to the development of cross-country technology.
The Honda Passport will be the very first model to be equipped with the Trailsport package. Therefore, the further fate of the sub-brand depends on its success. If sales meet the company's expectations, then we can safely expect the kits to increase the cross-country ability to appear on all Honda crossovers, in particular on the CR-V. The company has not yet announced the exact date of the launch of new items on sale, but, most likely, this modification can be ordered in the coming winter.
The Honda Trailsport can be recognized by the updated front grille styling. Its honeycomb design immediately hints at the model's sportiness. The orange Trailsport logo can also be seen here. The mountains depicted on the icon make it clear that this car is far from being designed for quiet city trips. The design of the headlights has also changed, the front bumper looks more sporty due to new air intakes and fog lights. A spacious trunk appeared on the roof, and a spare wheel was fixed on the rear door.
Honda says the Trailsport comes with new tires that significantly improve traction on the ground. The underbody has received protection and the suspension has been re-tuned for extreme riding, as has the all-wheel drive system. The price of the Trailsport off-road package is still unknown, but we expect Honda to announce it soon along with a specific launch date for official sale.
