The Honda company is not only engaged in the production of cars and motorcycles. Its product range includes a fairly wide range of scooters supplied all over the world. One of them is the Honda PCX160, which has recently been updated.
As follows from the published information, the scooter has become more powerful and safer. For example, Honda has equipped its model with an anti-lock brake system. Previously, this equipment did not come with a Japanese scooter. Front brake discs were also offered along with the updated model.
Now, along with the Honda PCX160, the engine comes with a displacement of 156 cc and four valves. Thanks to this, the maximum output from this unit reaches 16 HP, the maximum torque is 15 N * m. It is stated that as part of the modernization, Honda engineers have improved the performance of the gas system and increased the efficiency of the exhaust. In addition, they made changes to the design of the hydraulic chain tensioner, crankshaft, connecting rod and other elements of the motor. As a result, this led to an increase in fuel efficiency.
It is noteworthy, but despite such significant changes, the weight of the scooter has grown by only 1 kilogram. And if we take into account the emergence of an anti-lock brake system, this will not affect performance in any way. The engineers also slightly increased the size of the wheelbase, which allowed them to bring the storage space under the seat from 29 to 30.4 liters. Officially, Honda has not yet announced either prices or the date of the start of sales of its new items. Perhaps this model will receive a proprietary torque control system, which is equipped with other scooters of the Japanese brand.
