Hyundai dealerships said that the Casper compact cross, barely making its debut on the market, immediately won the status of a bestseller. According to them, already in the first day since the start of sales of the SUV, 18,940 motorists have placed orders for its purchase. This result was a record for non-electric vehicles for the entire time of the manufacturer's presence on the market.
As you know, Hyundai Casper is the most compact crossover of the brand, the cost of which starts from 860 thousand rubles. Its dimensions are 3595x1595x1575 mm, and the center distance reaches 2400 mm. The SUV itself is made in a classic five-door style, and its interior is designed for four passengers. The cross was created on the basis of the Hyundai-KIA K1 architecture, on which the current version of the small car i10 is based.
The main feature of the SUV is its body. It is unique, unlike any existing Hyundai model. The door handles built into the rear pillars look quite interesting. In addition, the car received a two-tier head optics, an original radiator grill, as well as undershooting on the wheel arches, emphasizing the appearance of the car.
The automaker included two 1-liter engines in the list of available power units for the SUV. In the basic version, the Hyundai Casper is equipped with an atmospheric engine, the output of which is 75 hp. For more expensive modifications, the developer suggested a 99 hp turbo engine.
Regardless of the version, the cross is equipped with an automatic transmission with 4 speeds. The developer did not provide for all-wheel drive modifications, therefore, in any of the options, the SUV will be front-wheel drive. In the future, an electrified crossover with a 135 kW engine is expected to appear on the market.
