For those of you hoping Hyundai will simply launch the eye-catching Prophecy concept sedan, we have bad news. New spy photos show that the Ioniq 6 based on this show car will retain the overall essence of the concept, but it won't be the version that many of us hoped to see.
The prototype of the new Ioniq 6
Before you, perhaps, the best images of the sedan Hyundai Ioniq 6. They reveal the new product in more detail. And what can you see here? Yes, the front and rear overhangs are slightly longer than the Prophecy, but the car itself is taller. The manufacturer will also replace the rear-opening rear doors and pillar-less design with something more traditional. The doors seem to have large handles though, so we suspect they do have a hidden design, just like they did on the concept.

In addition, we think that the streamlined body lines also strongly resemble the previously seen prototype. Take a close look at the rear, especially the camouflage cutouts for the flashlights. These lenses are low, and the protection itself hides an important element. The zipper runs from the rear bumper down under the lights. It is probably located in this place so that you can access the sensors.

As for the interior and powertrain, there isn't much to discuss here yet. The car should share the one or two-engine options from the Ioniq 5 with an estimated range of 482 kilometers for single-engine rear-wheel drive models. All-wheel drive versions will have twin units. In this case, the power reserve will be 443 kilometers. At launch, there will likely not be a single powerful option, but with spy shots of the Ioniq 5 N already on the web, there is no reason to believe that the Ioniq 6 N, with performance rivaling Tesla, will eventually eventually will not appear. We expect Hyundai to officially unveil the Ioniq 6 during 2022 as a 2023 model.
