More recently, the Korean brand Ioniq, which is a structural division of Hyundai Corporation, spoke about plans to launch two new models - Ioniq 6 and 7 - on the market. So, one of the leaders of Hyundai said yesterday that the future successor of the Kona model could enter the market as an electric car from the Ioniq brand. For him, the company may provide the name Ioniq 2, 3 or 4.

Hyundai representatives see strong prospects in their new E-GMP platform. Therefore, they consider it reasonable to extend it to as many cars as possible, including more compact models. Hyundai sees the direction in which Volkswagen is moving with its ID line of electric cars as a benchmark for the development of this segment.

For the first time, the specified platform appeared on the market after the release of the new Ioniq 5, which is available in two different variations. Both versions are equipped with a battery with a capacity of 77.4 kWh. The basic version of the car is offered in a rear-wheel drive version with a 225 horsepower electric motor. In this technical version, the car is capable of covering a distance of 483 kilometers on a single battery charge.

In addition, this platform assumes the release of all-wheel drive versions. In particular, the Ioniq 5 is offered with two electric motors. Their total capacity reaches 320 "horses". The power reserve on a single charge in this case is 433 kilometers. In this version, the cross develops impressive dynamics, accelerating from 0 to 96 km / h in just 5 seconds.
