As part of the presentation of the strategy for the development of hydrogen vehicles, Hyundai has unveiled the concept of a new unmanned tractor Trailer Drone. Basically, this model is 2 e-Bogie trolleys, on which a large container is attached. The Korean car does not have a cab, which is due to the presence of a full autonomous control system.

Each bogie has its own fuel cell transmission. They are also complemented by wheels with independent steering. Thanks to this feature, excellent maneuverability is achieved. The built-in hardware even supports the gait of the crab. That is, the car may not move forward, but sideways. In addition, with the help of these carts, you can create something similar to a road train. They are able to unite with each other, moving in one column.

It is reported that each individual trolley is capable of driving about 500 kilometers without refueling. This means that a standard tractor with a base consisting of two such drones will have a range of 1,000 kilometers. Hyundai intends to expand the list of features that these carts support. So, the manufacturer plans to adapt them for the installation of fire hoses, microcomputers and strobe lights. This new product is expected to be used in the services responsible for the rescue of people.

Together with the presentation of the Trailer Drone concept, Hyundai has shown 2 new fuel cells with a capacity of 100 and 200 kW and a portable hydrogen station. The latter is intended for refueling electric vehicles in an area remote from the relevant infrastructure.
