The launch of the new Kia Carnival has attracted increased attention around the world. This model offers a high level of comfort and good cross-country ability for this class at a relatively affordable price. However, later it became known that Hyundai was preparing a model similar in performance. Now the Korean manufacturer has published a price list for the new Custo, which is built on the same platform as Carnival. Moreover, this model turned out to be cheaper by about a million rubles.
As follows from the published information, for Custo in the Chinese market they are asking for about 2.04 million rubles, recalculated at the current exchange rate. Kia Carnival in Russia costs more than three million rubles (excluding the initial version). However, Custo is less powerful than its direct competitor. Although some of his equipment is unique.
In particular, Custo received a vertically oriented 10.4-inch touchscreen. By default, the car is equipped with a multifunctional steering wheel with a sloping bottom, a virtual instrument panel, an electrically controlled parking brake and climate control equipment. Following the example of the last Tucson, from which both the exterior and the interior of the car were "copied", the new Custo was deprived of the gearshift lever: instead of it, buttons are placed on the transmission tunnel.
Depending on the version, the Korean model is equipped with leather seats, panoramic windows (realized through two electric sunroofs) and front seats with electric heating and ventilation. The seats in the minivan are arranged according to the formula 2 + 2 + 3.
Custo turned out to be smaller in size than Carnival. The length of the first model reaches 4950 mm, and the distance between the wheel axles is 3055 mm. A 170-horsepower turbo engine with a volume of 1.5 liters is installed as standard under the hood of Custo. Optionally, a 2-liter supercharged engine appears here, producing up to 236 hp.
