The world stubbornly continues to be captured by crossovers and electric cars, but some manufacturers are not yet abandoning the release of compact "lighters" that can shoot at traffic lights and give a feeling of sport and dynamism, combined with comfort and a relatively affordable price.
So it happened with the Hyundai brand, which, despite the release of crossovers and budget sedans, did not abandon the hot hatch segment and officially presented the new compact i20 N Line in India. It became the firstborn of the N series from a Korean company in the local market. The car will be offered there only in top-end trim levels. It would seem that a liter engine under the hood is not serious. But he will be able to "light" many other cars thanks to the turbocharging and perfectly tuned dynamics.
There are no full-fledged N-series vehicles from Hyundai in India yet. At the moment, all the changes, compared to the usual i20, are more cosmetic in nature. The front end features a beautiful grille with matte black accents and the N Line logo, highlighted by a sporty bumper. From the side, the look of the car continues with an elegant skirt that is attached to the sills. The picture is completed by a compact spoiler on the boot lid and red inserts on the bumpers and sills. The dimensions of the i20 N Line are identical to the regular i20. The total body length is 3995 mm, width - 1775 mm, height - 1505 mm.
The Hyundai i20 N Line is powered by the same turbocharged GDi three-cylinder petrol engine, tuned to produce 118bhp. at 6000 rpm and 172 N * m at 1500-4000 rpm. Powertrain options will include a six-speed manual transmission (iMT) and a seven-speed dual-clutch robot (DCT). The DCT version accelerates to 100 km / h in 9.9 seconds. Hyundai also says the steering geometry has been redesigned to improve handling at higher speeds, allowing for easier cornering, and the suspension has been tuned for a 30 percent damping boost.
