Haval announced in the spring that it plans to bring a new Big Dog SUV to Russia. The manufacturer recently reaffirmed its intentions. And now Haval has told in what form the new Big Dog will arrive.
The manufacturer said that in Russia the SUV will be sold as Dargo. This name was chosen probably because in Chinese the name of the car sounds like DaGou. This translates to "Big Dog" or Big Dog. Haval has already started certification of its new SUV for the Russian market.
In the published documents, which just declassified the name of the car, another interesting detail is mentioned: the Chinese model will arrive in our country with a 2-liter turbocharged engine. Its declared power is 200 hp. That is, Haval specially derated this engine for the Russian market, since the Big Dog, presented in China, is equipped with a 211-horsepower unit. Accordingly, at first the SUV will not be sold with a 1.5-liter turbo engine developing up to 169 hp.
In addition to these units, the documents indicate that Dargo is equipped with a 7-speed robotic gearbox and all-wheel drive. No other changes to the SUV are likely to happen again.
Recall that the Haval Big Dog on the home market is available today for a minimum of 1.67 million rubles at the current exchange rate. The starting version of the SUV has front-wheel drive. Prices for all-wheel drive modifications start at 1.78 million rubles. The car itself is designed in the retro style typical of classic SUVs, but its interior boasts an expensive performance.
