The compact urban crossover segment is very popular today. One of the brightest representatives of this class is the Hyundai Venuya 2022. This urban SUV is considered a direct competitor for such models as Kia Sonet, Ford EcoSport and Volkswagen T-Cross. Cross is available to customers in three modifications at a price of 1.32 million rubles. Regardless of the version, the car is exclusively equipped with a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine. But there is a choice of transmission - automatic or manual transmission.

This is not to say that the 2022 Hyundai Venuya SUV received a new body, since the model has not yet undergone a single update since the start of its sales. At the same time, the configuration and prices of the car were slightly revised. In particular, the manufacturer has endowed the cross with new equipment. The drive, regardless of the version, is only front. Full is not even available as an option.

The suspension system of the Hyundai Venue is classic. In the front part there is an independent system with MacPherson struts with gas shock absorbers. A torsion beam is installed at the back. Shock absorbers at the stern are twin-tube. In the basic version, drum brakes are placed in front, in the flagship - disc mechanisms.

Since Hyundai Venue is not sold in Russia, the configurations in the article will be given for the Australian market. There the model is presented in three modifications. The cost of the basic version is $ 24,543 (1.32 million rubles). For the top-end configuration, local buyers will have to pay $ 30,517 (1.65 million rubles).

Base

In the initial version, the Korean SUV is available with both manual and automatic transmissions. The engine in all modifications is unchanged - 1.6-liter with 123 hp. In the starting version of the crossover, the manufacturer included:

It is also worth noting that the double front, side airbags and curtains work in conjunction with the belts, ensuring the unparalleled safety of the SUV. Improved visibility in the dark is guaranteed by additional lamps placed on the edges of the headlights, which turn on automatically.

Handling and off-road performance

The Korean model behaves well on the road. Its compact size helps it to maneuver in the city. However, due to insufficient engine power, it is necessary to plan for overtaking on the track in advance. Also, the car showed itself well during overcoming small irregularities. The suspension dampens almost all vibrations without transmitting them to the passenger compartment. With regard to off-road performance, we can say that they are completely absent. The fact is that the Korean cross has a modest ground clearance of 152 mm and is not equipped with an all-wheel drive system. Even the manufacturer himself positions his car as a purely urban model.

Advantages and disadvantages

The Hyundai Venue 2022 has many advantages, making it one of the very best buy options in its segment. First of all, it is necessary to highlight the efficiency of the crossover, since in the city it consumes no more than 7 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. The car is well equipped even in the basic configuration, which can also be considered a plus. The SUV is easy to operate due to its small size and viewing radius. Another important advantage of the cross is that it looks much more expensive than it actually costs.

The car also has some disadvantages, among which are:

• small legroom in the second passenger row;
• mediocre interior soundproofing;
• weak motor dynamics.

Design

The Korean model looks very attractive. The car body is shaped like a small rectangle. The presence of darkened racks adds to the massiveness of the appearance. In the front of the SUV, one can note the installation of a proprietary radiator grille and two-level optics. Certain body elements are finished in a space gray or acid yellow shade, which adds to the uniqueness of the cross. In profile, the "Korean" looks more restrained. In this part, we can only note the presence of a large number of all kinds of stampings. The rear of the car has received a high fit of the luggage compartment lid and square lights. Additional foglights are built into the bumper.

The interior of the Hyundai Venue seems luxurious despite the model's budget status. Plastic, fabric and leather substitute are used in the interior decoration. The car is equipped with a standard analogue-digital instrument panel, a small multimedia touchscreen display and a multifunctional steering wheel. There is a lot of physical keys in the car to control the built-in functionality. The salon of the Korean model is designed to carry 5 people. The front seats are comfortable enough, but their functionality is limited. Rear seat passengers will be able to change the angle of the backrest and convert the center of the seat into an armrest.

Sales start

The debut of the Hyundai Venue SUV took place in 2019 at the New York Auto Show. A separate display of the car was also held in India. Car sales in this country began in May 2019. The Korean model reached America in November. The crossover is also available in native South Korea. So far, nothing has been officially announced about whether the SUV will come to Russian dealers.
