Nissan continues to update the list of manufactured vehicles. According to preliminary information, this time the manufacturer intends to reduce the range of its premium sub-brand Infiniti. Moreover, the decision made in relation to this brand may seem strange to its fans.

The fact is that Nissan plans to discontinue production of the Infiniti Q60 coupe. At the same time, this model allowed the Japanese brand to gain a foothold in a new segment for itself and improve its position in the market. But the decision, according to Western media reports, was made due to the fact that Infiniti is now focusing on the design and development of crossovers and electric cars. In this regard, the coupe may leave the lineup of the Japanese brand as early as 2023. Note that for the same reason, Infiniti abandoned the development of the Q60 Project Black S concept. This decision was made a few months ago.

However, the refusal to develop the Infiniti Q60 is due not only to a change in the direction of development of the Japanese company. Recently, the manufacturer has registered a sharp drop in coupe sales. So, last year, less than 2, 8 thousand copies of the Infiniti Q60 were sold in the American market. But earlier the sales volume reached 5 thousand units per year.

Note that the demand for Nissan Z last year was even less: less than two thousand people bought this sports car. However, the manufacturer will soon present an updated version of this model. That is, low sales are not always the circumstance for Nissan that will force the company to abandon the production of the car. Perhaps the Japanese manufacturer decided that there should be only one sports car in the lineup. In this regard, he abandoned the development of the Infiniti Q60.
