Lexus has announced the start of accepting pre-orders for the next generation NX crossover. So far, car sales have started in the home market. However, thanks to this, modifications and the motor range of the Japanese model became known.
In the home market, the new Lexus NX is offered in 11 body paint options. Customers can choose from 7 colors of materials that decorate the interior. Lexus NX is presented in Japan in four versions, including hybrid powertrains.
As standard, the new generation Lexus NX is equipped with a 2.5-liter atmospheric engine, which was equipped with its pre-reform version. This unit produces no more than 203 hp. useful power. Versions with a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, the maximum output of which reaches 275 hp, will cost more. An optional all-wheel drive is offered with both motors.
The "junior" hybrid plant is based on the basic "aspirated" system, which is combined with two generating sets installed on the front and rear axles. Its total output reaches 239 hp. The "older" hybrid has more remarkable features. It was the first Lexus unit of its kind to be recharged from the home's mains. A similar scheme is used in the Toyota RAV4, which is sold in the European market.
The "older" hybrid installation is based on the same basic "atmospheric". But in this case, its maximum output is reduced to 178 hp. It comes with an electric motor, a step-up converter and a battery. Together, all this produces up to 306 hp. useful power. The drive in this case goes to all wheels. The electric motor in this installation provides a power reserve of 58 kilometers without recharging. Optionally, with the hybrid versions of the Lexus NX, an optional package with adaptive suspension, sports body kit and 20-inch wheels is offered.
