The Cadillac Escalade has recently undergone a major refresh, raising the level of competition in the segment that features the 2022 Lexus LH. But the Japanese model is expecting a quick generational change, within which it will move to a new platform. In the meantime, Lexus LX offers 2 familiar engines on the Russian market: a 4.5-liter turbodiesel and an atmospheric unit with a volume of 5.7 liters. The Japanese model is equipped with all-wheel drive and automatic transmission by default. For it in Russia they ask for at least 7, 436 million rubles. Such a high price is largely due to the fact that the basic version of the Lexus LX is already equipped with many expensive options such as seven leather seats, a four-zone climate and various security systems. Optionally, this list is expanded with a premium stereo system, second-row ventilated seats and other equipment.
Until the 2022 Lexus LH managed to move to the TNGA platform, which has already formed the basis for the prototype of the future Toyota Land Cruiser 300 model. In this regard, the SUV did not have time to get a new body. However, the manufacturer made some changes in the configuration, which led not only to a slight increase in prices, but also the appearance of a number of additional exterior details. This, as the photos show, made the Lexus LX more attractive in appearance. But the specs of the Japanese SUV also change only after the next generation comes out.
By default, the Lexus LX in Russia is equipped with a 4.5 liter turbodiesel engine. Its maximum output is limited to 272 hp, and the torque available already at 1600 rpm is 600 N * m. An SUV with such a unit is combined with a hydromechanical automatic transmission with a 6-speed sequential gear shift mode. Lexus LX in this version gains the first 100 km / h in 8.6 seconds, consuming an average of 9.5 liters of fuel. An optional 5, 7-liter naturally aspirated engine is offered with the Japanese SUV, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Its maximum power reaches 367 hp, and the tractive torque available at 5600 rpm is 530 N * m. A Japanese model with such an engine gains the first 100 km / h in 7, 7 seconds, consuming about 14, 4 liters.
The basis of the Lexus LX is the MacPherson struts and the rear trailing arm suspension, which are equipped with anti-roll bars. The SUV is based on a frame chassis and is standardly complemented by all-wheel drive, which is combined with air suspension and limited slip differential. The latter redistributes traction depending on the characteristics of the road. The air suspension is capable of adjusting the ride height and stiffness of the shock absorbers. Equipped with the Lexus LX is an integrated traction vector control system to improve off-road stability. For the same purposes, the Japanese model provides for a transmission that supports several driving modes, including mud and sand. The SUV's length is 5065 mm, width - 1980 mm, height - 1910 mm. The wheelbase is 2850 mm, the ground clearance is 225 mm.
Options and prices
Now Lexus LH 2022 is offered on the Russian market in seven versions. Moreover, it was the configuration of the Japanese model that changed for the last time. The first two versions of the SUV are equipped with a turbodiesel engine, the rest are equipped with a gasoline engine.
The basic version of the Japanese SUV now costs 7, 436 million rubles. Already in this configuration, there is a power steering with the function of changing the gear ratio, an automatic transmission with paddle shifters and aluminum wheel rims with a diameter of 18 inches. In a circle, the Lexus LX has ventilated brakes. The initial version uses LED lighting, auto-switch headlights and a rain sensor. The list of standard equipment, ensuring the comfortable operation of the SUV, includes:
- parking brake with electronic control;
- luggage compartment electric drive;
- multifunctional leather steering wheel;
- keyless engine start and salon access system;
- multifunction display on the instrument panel;
- electrically heated front and rear seats;
- electric drive of seats of the first two rows with memory function;
- ventilation of the front seats;
- electric heating of washer nozzles, steering wheel and windshield;
- wireless charging platform;
- four-zone climate system with a cabin filter;
- stereo system with nine speakers.
By default, a navigation system and a 12.3-inch touchscreen monitor are supplied with Lexus LH. Already in the basic version, you can find rear, side and front view cameras, a full-size spare wheel, a self-dimming interior mirror and sun blinds on the side windows. The safety launch complex includes:
- 8 pillows, including 2 knee pads;
- speed control system;
- indicators for monitoring the pressure in the wheels;
- driving assistants when driving on a hill;
- anti-slip system;
- ABS and ESP;
- 2 parking sensors built into the front and rear bumpers.
In addition, the Lexus LX is equipped as standard with illuminated side steps, interior LED lamps, an additional heater for the interior space and a comfortable seat system for the driver. All seats are in leather as standard.
The second complete set of the Japanese model costs 7.616 million rubles. This version introduces second-row seat ventilation and a premium 19-speaker stereo system. In addition, buyers have access to a frontal impact warning system, driver fatigue control and adaptive road lighting. The Executive version also features active cruise control and lane keep assist.
For the third complete set they ask for 7, 761 million rubles. This version differs from the previous version only in the appearance of a tailgate closer, an electrically adjustable sunroof, a cooled glove box and a tracking system for "blind" zones. But in this configuration, ventilation of the second row seats disappears.
For 7, 957 million rubles in Russia, Lexus LX 2022 is available in the version Luxury 21+. This package expands on the previous ones with 21-inch wheels, head-up display and ventilated second-row seats.
Luxury 8S +
In this configuration, estimated at 8, 391 million rubles, electrically adjustable third-row seats are installed. But in this version, rims with a diameter of 20 inches are provided.
Lexus LX 2022 in the top-end version will cost 8, 641 million rubles. This configuration, in addition to 21-inch rims, offers an original body finish. In particular, the grille is painted black.

Lexus LX has received the highest rating for safety. This result is largely due to the fact that the Japanese model has a solid frame structure. It significantly reduces the likelihood of injury to the driver and passengers in the event of a frontal or side impact. Onboard electronics play a significant role in ensuring a high level of safety. In particular, built-in systems prevent uncontrolled drifts when driving both on wet asphalt and off-road. In addition, the on-board equipment demonstrates a quick response and responds to danger in a timely manner.
Handling and off-road capabilities
Lexus LX is distinguished by its large dimensions: its body length exceeds 5 meters. In this regard, the Japanese model cannot be called agile and maneuverable. However, in practice, she demonstrates good abilities when moving around in the city. This is partly due to the already mentioned on-board electronics, which make driving a car easier. But the equipment does not interfere with the control. On the contrary, the steering wheel allows the driver to "feel" the behavior of the car.
The full potential of the Lexus LX is unleashed off-road. The Japanese model is equipped with an active adaptive suspension, capable of "swallowing" irregularities of completely different degrees of complexity. Comfortable off-road driving is facilitated by systems for suppressing body roll and maintaining a constant speed. Also, the Japanese model is equipped with an adaptive all-wheel drive capable of adapting to the terrain. As a result, this combination provides the Lexus LX with enviable cross-country ability. According to this indicator, the Japanese model, in fact, can only be compared with its prototype Toyota Land Cruiser 200.
Advantages and disadvantages
It's hard to pinpoint the flaws in the Lexus LX. The Japanese model offers buyers a range of options not found in any other SUV:
- high level of comfort regardless of operating conditions;
- comfortable and ergonomic interior;
- active on-board electronics for a high level of safety;
- excellent off-road ability;
- good acceleration dynamics;
- a lot of free space in the area of the third row of seats;
- reliable and durable engines that are not demanding on fuel quality.
At the same time, Lexus LX, like other large cars, consumes a lot of fuel. Also, the Japanese model is expensive to maintain. But the second drawback is partially offset by reliable chassis, transmission and engines, which do not require special attention for tens and hundreds of thousands of kilometers.
Externally, the Lexus LX has remained virtually unchanged in recent years. The car is still equipped with a huge grille, made in the shape of an hourglass. The Japanese model, like other Lexus products, is equipped with pointed headlights, which are complemented by LED lights by default. Also, the SUV is equipped with running boards and a front bumper with developed air intakes. The almost vertical stern contains large LED lights. The rear bumper protrudes slightly against the background of the rest of the body, thus forming a kind of step that facilitates loading into the luggage compartment.
That said, the interior of the Lexus LX looks a little dated. This impression is formed by the center console, which is almost completely covered by the onboard electronics control keys. Slightly "ennobles" this type of touch monitor, which has recently been updated. In addition, the interior of the Japanese model is finished by default with expensive materials: leather and natural wood.
In fact, the current version of the Lexus LX has been present on the Russian market since 2016. During this time, the car has undergone a series of subtle changes, which mainly affected the list of onboard equipment.
