More than a year has passed since Land Rover unveiled the reborn Defender. Since that moment, the car has become one of the bestsellers of the European market: the queue for it stretched for more than 9 months. Now it has become known that Land Rover is preparing the Defender 130, which will be the longest version of the British SUV. Its interior can accommodate 3 rows of seats.

Land Rover has promised that the new Defender 130 will be available within 18 months. In the meantime, the car went to road tests, covered with traditional camouflage (photo: motor1.com). It is reported that the length of the British novelty will reach 5100 mm, which is 342 mm more than the current version of the SUV.

The published photographs show that Land Rover did not change the exterior in preparation for the extended Defender 130. Probably, the manufacturer will limit itself to increasing the wheelbase and adding a third row of seats. The photos show the same round head optics, standard Defender bumpers and a radiator grille. Even the size of the ground clearance of the British novelty looks the same as that of the current version.
The Defender 130 is not expected to undergo any changes. At the same time, according to rumors, the 3-row SUV will be significantly more expensive than the current version of the British model. In many ways, the big difference in price will be due to the fact that Land Rover will offer the 3-row Defender only in top-end trim levels.
The same power units will remain under the hood of the British model. That is, customers will be offered a choice of gasoline and diesel turbo engines, supercharged V8 and hybrid units. In particular, one of them will be a 3-liter engine with a return of 360 hp, which is complemented by a starter-generator. A 550-horsepower engine is expected to appear. As with the current Defender 110, Land Rover may bring the 3-row SUV version to Russia in the future. But so far this information has not been confirmed.
