According to the latest rumors, the updated Land Rover Range Rover will debut at the end of this year. But this isn't the only new addition to the British firm for the 2022 model year. After all, after the standard version of Range Rover, there should be a Sport version. Not so long ago, a new batch of "spy" photos of the model appeared on the web, which confirm that the development and testing of the machine continues. For those hoping the car changes enough, there is bad news. Judging by all the photos, the design of the Sport-version is minimally modernized, at least from the outside. The Range Rover Sport will look more aggressive than the standard variant, with a large spoiler aft and a tilted rear windshield. Speaking of the front end, it is worth highlighting that even the disguise cannot hide the redesigned head optics and a slightly modified, more rectangular grille (now a trapezoidal one is installed on the Range Rover Sport).
The updated model will receive a modular longitudinal architecture, like its “older brother” the standard Range Rover. Thanks to this, the SUV will be able to support hybrid power plants, as well as full electrification. According to the latest information, during the launch of sales of the updated car, it will be offered only in variants with varying degrees of electrification from mild hybrid versions to rechargeable hybrid technologies. By the way, Land Rover is the only brand that is in no hurry to switch its lineup to electricity. This can be judged by the fact that, according to the manufacturer, the all-electric version of the Range Rover Sport will appear only a few years after the start of sales of the standard version.
It is interesting to know how much the interior of the updated car will change. But, unfortunately, at the moment, not a single photo of the model's interior has been presented on the Web. The scale of the changes to the interior can be judged after the official debut of Range Rover, as its interior will be very similar to the Sport version. In any case, there is still a lot of time before the official premiere of the model. According to unconfirmed reports, it should take place no earlier than 2022, and auto sales will begin only in 2023.
