Land Rover is currently actively developing its new fifth generation Range Rover flagship. Recently, “spy” photos of the crossover in the version with a long wheelbase appeared on the web, in which it, apparently, moved to the final stage of testing.

Current Range Rover

These images show a pair of test mules fully covered in disguise. One of them is pulling a trailer behind it, probably to determine the tractive effort of the car. Over the past year, these are not the first photos of Range Rover test prototypes that have come across in various parts of Europe. Previously, the photographers "spies" also managed to make sufficiently detailed pictures of the camouflaged interior of the future novelty.

New Range Rover

Due to the dense camouflage in the cabin, it was quite problematic to disassemble the general interior design, but we still managed to see some elements. For example, this is the touchscreen multimedia display on the center console, which has received a larger size compared to the current generation. It appears to be running a revised Pivi Pro operating system from Jaguar Land Rover. There is no separate display for the climate system underneath. Also in the photo you could see the already familiar digital dashboard screen.

As for the exterior, here, despite the disguise, you can make out that it is somewhat evolving relative to the current model. The manufacturer will revise the car's radiator grill, as well as change its headlights. The new model will be equipped with a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8. This engine is borrowed from BMW. What its final power will be is still not known for certain.

In addition, one of the images shown shows that the new Range Rover will debut a steering system for the first time. Today, for example, the BMW 7-Series and a number of Porsche models are released with this function. It is not clear which configurations will receive this option, but it is clear how flexible the MLA architecture on which the new product is built can be.
