By the end of 2022, a third model will be added to the Land Rover Defender family. To the already existing Defender 90 and 110 will be added a longer, three-row version, called 130. Recently, the first spy shots of the production version of such a model appeared on the Internet.
Defender 110
These photos show a fairly advanced prototype. Although it is completely covered in camouflage camouflage, looking at its side profile, it should be noted that its body turned out to be elongated, and the spare wheel in the tailgate emphasizes this effect even more.
New Land Rover Defender 130
It is worth noting that the Defender 110 is already available with a third row of seats, but the space is so small that only children can fit there. Even the manufacturer himself stated that the rear seats are intended for use only in extreme cases. In the new Defender 130, this problem will be solved, as the overall length of the car will increase by 355 mm, while the length of the wheelbase will correspond to the current 110 (3022 mm).
Thus, the body length of the new 130 should be about 5105 mm, excluding the aforementioned spare wheel. That's about 152mm longer than the Land Rover Discovery, which can also offer three rows of seats.
The Land Rover Defender 130 was originally expected to be officially unveiled towards the end of 2022. From the spy shots, it can be assumed that the company is progressing in the development of the model according to the schedule, although, perhaps, the model will be presented a little earlier.
In Russia, Land Rover Defender is officially available in versions 90 and 110. In our country, the car is offered with two diesel engines with a capacity of 200 and 249 hp, as well as two gasoline engines that generate 400 and 525 hp. Perhaps an extended version of the SUV will reach our country.
