Ultimately, both situations left the British manufacturer unable to meet the demand for a hybrid Land Rover Defender. It is stated that for some versions of this SUV, the queue stretched for 12 months. Moreover, as representatives of JLR added, the situation will not change in the near future. The British manufacturer predicts that demand for the Land Rover Defender can be met in both 3 and 12 months.
JLR added that due to a shortage of semiconductors, car production fell by 7,000 units in the first quarter alone. At the same time, the British concern has received over 20 thousand applications for Land Rover Defender to date with a monthly production of 7 thousand copies. However, part of the blame for this situation lies with JLR. The British manufacturer initially predicted a monthly demand of 5 thousand copies.
Remarkably, the hybrid Defender only entered the European market last month. That is, in the near future, the demand for an SUV can both grow sharply and fall due to the prevailing circumstances.
