In Russia, it became possible to pre-order the updated three and five-door versions of the Defender SUV. This was officially announced on May 2 by Jaguar Land Rover. Both versions of the SUV will be equipped with a 525 hp V-8. The cost of the three-door modification under the index “90” is 9.07 million rubles. The version with five doors and an index "110" is estimated at a minimum of 9, 25 million rubles.
Recall that the Defender with a V-shaped 8-cylinder engine was presented in February this year. Thus, he reached Russia two months after his debut. It is worth saying that before that the model was available on the domestic market only with a diesel 6-cylinder 3-liter engine, the power of which, depending on the setting, was 200 or 249 hp. In addition, the British SUV was offered with a 400 hp hybrid power plant. All motors were paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which transferred power to the all-wheel drive system, and a 2-band transfer case.
Speaking of the updated model, it is worth noting that it will be available in Russia with the same trim levels that are currently being sold in the UK. With each configuration, a 5.0-liter, 8-cylinder, V-shaped, compressor unit is offered. It is tuned to 525 hp. and 625 N * m of torque. It will be paired with the same 8-speed gearbox as before. In order for the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h, the motor needs only 5.2 seconds. At the same time, it can develop a maximum of 240 km / h.
The high-performance versions of Defender differ from standard models with an improved suspension, in which the spring travel is noticeably reduced, and an increased anti-roll bar. This contributed to the fact that the rolls of the SUV decreased markedly. Moreover, such versions received an active rear differential and another driving mode called Dynamic.
Also, the 525-horsepower versions received 22-inch alloy wheels and an exhaust system with 4-massive tailpipes. The braking system has also not remained unchanged and is now equipped with larger, more efficient discs and calipers. And besides this, special nameplates appeared on the body, identifying this version of the model.
