Mazda has experienced certain difficulties in the development of new engines in recent years. So, about two years ago, the manufacturer was faced with the need to urgently modernize the engine range due to the fact that the current power units do not meet European emission standards. Also, the Japanese company is experiencing difficulties in bringing to the market models equipped with a rotary engine.

However, the manufacturer is gradually solving these problems. This is evidenced by the statement according to which, from September 26th, sales of the updated Mazda CX-30 EV crossover, equipped exclusively with an electric motor, will start on the Chinese market. The car has already appeared at official dealerships, and its debut took place at the April Shanghai Motor Show.

Mazda has not yet disclosed details about its new product. In particular, it is still known that the Japanese model is equipped with only one 218-horsepower electric motor. The type and characteristics of the battery, including the range, have not yet been announced.

Externally, the electric Madza CX-30 EV does not differ from modifications with internal combustion engines. The car is designed in the corporate style with an elongated front part of the body, where there is a large radiator grille framed by a metal insert. There are no changes in the cabin of the Japanese model either. The manufacturer even retained the familiar gearshift lever and analog instrument panel.

The crossover is equipped with a compact touchscreen monitor built into the top of the "dashboard". There is a lot of free space left between it and the relatively narrow climate control unit, not occupied by anything. Its presence is due to the fact that the developers have moved the central air deflector closer to the steering wheel.
