The Japanese manufacturer Nissan is actively preparing for the market launch of a new generation of the Skyline car, the first version of which appeared about 50 years ago. According to media representatives close to sources within the company, the future generation of this model may be released in the body of a cross-coupe. According to preliminary information, this car can be built on the basis of the premium SUV Infiniti QX55, which, in turn, is a special version of the standard QX50.

Infiniti QX55

As you know, the revival of the Nissan Skyline took place in 2009. Then the manufacturer decided to return the once popular car to its lineup, and took the Infiniti EX37 as the basis for its creation. The developer somewhat simplified the design of the car, as well as modernized its appearance.

As for the car of the future generation, on which the specialists of the Japanese company are currently working, in addition to the changed body type, it will also receive revised power characteristics. In particular, the model is planned to be equipped with a new 2-liter turbocharged engine. Its output will be 272 horsepower. Also, this unit will be distinguished by the ability to demonstrate a variable compression ratio.

Actual Nissan Skyline

There is no alternative to the available transmission. In any version, the cross-coupe will be equipped with a variator gearbox. But the leading drive can be both front and intelligent full. It is not yet known when a future version is scheduled to air. It is also not clear how much the price of such a performance of the Nissan Skyline will rise relative to the current model.
