The German brand Opel plans to present its next novelty this autumn. We are talking about the fresh generation of the Astra Sports Tourer station wagon, the serial production of which, as well as the start of sales, are scheduled for 2022. On the eve, the test modification of the model was noticed by photo spies during the next races. Judging by the fact that the camouflage protection is applied to the rear of the car, the main changes will be made to the rear of the station wagon.

Compared to the previous version of the Astra Sports Tourer, the new version is expected to offer a different C-pillar design. The aft lights of the sporting station wagon will match the standard five-door car (photo: motor.es). All optics of the novelty will be equipped with LED matrices. No further changes to the exterior of the new Sports Tourer are expected.
But in the interior of the station wagon there will be slightly more changes. In addition, the car relies on a very roomy trunk. Of course, the manufacturer has provided for the installation of a common display on the front panel, which combines the work of two touch screens at once. Also, a sports wagon will receive a lot of modern functionality, including intelligent driving assistants.
It is known that the power capabilities of a car will be determined by hybrid engines. Both versions are built on the basis of a 1.6-liter gas engine, which differ exclusively in terms of output - 150 or 180 "horses". Paired with an electric motor, the power rises to 180 and 225 horsepower, respectively. As a transmission, only an 8-speed "automatic" is involved.
