Previously, the manufacturer published various teasers of the future model, which revealed its characteristic features. Fans of the brand could see the exterior design as well as some of the details of its imposing interior. However, another teaser was recently presented, which confirms early assumptions that the new product will receive a rechargeable hybrid installation. Moreover, there will be two of them. The first of them is more effective in terms of range, the other is positioned as a more powerful option. The hybrid variants will offer buyers 180 and 225 hp. They will receive, in addition to the standard internal combustion engine, one or two electric motors, respectively. The version with two electric motors will be equipped with them on the front and rear axles. At the same time, none of the versions will receive an all-wheel drive system. In addition, each variant will be equipped with a 12.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides a maximum cruising range of 60 km in all-electric mode.

Moreover, the motor range will include gasoline and diesel units. Each of them will generate two different power options. The turbocharged petrol unit with a working volume of 1.2 liters, depending on the version, has indicators of 110 and 130 hp. The 1.5-liter turbodiesel produces a result of 100 and 130 hp. Each of these 4 options will be available with an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.

It is worth saying that the 11th generation Astra will be brought in line with the modern design philosophy of the Vizor, which previously debuted on the Mokka. The main innovation in the exterior of the model is the Matrix LED IntelliLux lighting technology. The length, width and height of the novelty will be 4370/1920/1470 mm. The wheelbase has increased by 10 mm and is now 2713 mm. By the way, the trunk has 422 liters of free space for transporting goods. The interior of the car will be dominated by the so-called Pure Panel design. Its characteristic feature is two horizontally oriented displays on the front panel and an additional touch-sensitive air conditioner control unit.
