Opel Astra 11th generation is almost completely ready for the official debut. It is known that this car was subjected to a variety of tests, including winter tests, at negative temperatures. All this indicates that the manufacturer is now in the final phase of testing its model before its global debut. This is a great time for a detailed account of how the next-generation Astra got ready for launch, which it did.
It all started with the fact that completely disguised prototypes first arrived in extremely cold Lapland in order to test the operation of basic safety systems, including stability control, traction control and ABS, under these conditions. These tests were carried out both on normal roads and on special tracks of frozen lakes. In addition, air conditioning and heating systems, heated steering wheels and seats and many other mechanisms were also tested in this region.
Since the new Astra will be offered in hybrid-rechargeable versions, the manufacturer also decided to test the heat and cool resistance of the lithium-ion battery. Judging by the report, during these tests, everything worked as usual. Another novelty has passed the tightness test. The car was subjected to a 25 cm deep ford, and not a single drop of water got into the interior of the car or into its engine. That is, in fact, the German model is ready for Russian conditions. The manufacturer is currently working on final tests, during which the absence of electromagnetic interference on various Astra devices is checked.
All this suggests that Opel is ready for the debut and start of production of the first production copies of the Astra 2022. By the way, the assembly of commercial models will begin in August. The appearance of the car in our country is also expected.
