The Korean crossover KIA Seltos was expected by Russian motorists 2 years ago as one of the main sensations of the market. Great hopes were pinned on the car, since its capabilities and characteristics were declared by the developer at a very serious level, which significantly exceeded the cost. In practice, car owners faced a lot of "sores" and shortcomings, some of which were quite expected, but some were quite unexpected. The experts decided to put together all the bad moments that can be expected when buying a new KIA Seltos, and tell about them.
Among the expected disadvantages of the SUV was low-quality sound insulation, which, even in top-end versions, practically does not reduce the noise level in the cabin. The next drawbacks are a rather stiff suspension and a small volume of the luggage compartment. Of course, it was assumed that the materials used in the decoration would not be of high quality, and the power unit would not allow it to demonstrate impressive dynamics.
At the same time, a number of shortcomings were a real surprise even for those who were skeptical about the new Seltos. So, the manufacturer saved on some components, especially those made of rubber. Their quality is extremely low, which often becomes the reason for crossover owners to contact the dealer.
Another disadvantage is the fragile windshield, which can be damaged even by contact with very small stones. A lot of claims are made by car owners to the car battery. During frosts, it may become unusable already in the first year of operation.
Water often gets into the car interior, due to poor rubber seals, which leads to wet carpets and door cards. The paintwork of the body also demonstrates not the best quality, which can be damaged even during washing.
But the most serious problem can be with the motor. Installed engines often emit knocks and eat up oil after 5-15 thousand kilometers of operation.
