About 2 months after the start of sales in South Korea, Kia is launching the new generation Sportage on the European market. It will be possible to purchase a crossover in the Old World from September 1. Despite the fact that the Korean model has now been completely declassified, Kia has prepared a few surprises for European consumers. This is evidenced by a series of renders featuring the new Sportage.
New Kia Sportage for South Korea
The images show that the Korean crossover, intended for the European market, has the same front and rear parts of the body. However, the car has slightly changed in profile. In particular, the back of the Korean novelty has a sportier rack, while, like the version presented on the home market, there is a compact glass. The latter in the European modification Sportage has moved to the side doors.
Renders of the European version of the cross
Published renders show the crossover in GT Line trim. The car in this version is distinguished by a two-tone body color and large rims. For Europe, Kia is expected to prepare a Sportage with a reduced wheelbase and more compact front and rear overhangs, which together give the crossover a sporty look. It is known that the standard version of the Korean model has a length of 4660 mm, and the distance between its wheel axles reaches 2755 mm. The Sportage will probably keep the same width and height for the European market.

Changing dimensions should result in weight loss. But this will not affect the vehicle's performance and fuel economy. The latter is facilitated by the appearance of a hybrid version of the Sportage, the official debut of which is scheduled for early September. The crossover in this version is based on a 1.6-liter supercharged engine, which is combined with a 91-horsepower electric motor and a 13.8 kWh battery.
