Hyundai unveiled a new Santa Cruz pickup a few months ago. This model, both externally and in terms of equipment, is almost a complete copy of the latest Tucson. Independent designers decided to show what a similar pickup, built on the basis of the new generation Kia Sportage, might look like. Moreover, both Korean models are complete competitors to each other and are created on the basis of a single platform.

The renders released show the Sportage has changed in the same way as the Tucson (photo: instagram.com/theottle). The front part of the body completely repeats the outlines of the crossover prototype. It houses the original optics with boomerang-shaped LED strips that frame a massive block with additional lights. The radiator grill is still large in size, and the front bumper is complemented by an air intake, divided by metal inserts into 3 segments.
The new Sportage in the back of a pickup
The Sportage-based pickup has a truncated rear end. Here, instead of the luggage compartment, there is a cargo platform. Its appearance, as well as the preservation of the second row of seats, led to an increase in the dimensions of the car in comparison with the crossover prototype. At the stern of the presented novelty, the same optics remained, connected by a long brake light.
Note that the likelihood of such a pickup appearing on the market cannot be ruled out. The fact is that the aforementioned Hyundai Santa Cruz is now quite popular. The car entered the market a few weeks ago, and the number of pre-orders for it exceeded 30 thousand units. Moreover, Santa Cruz achieved these results only in the USA. Prices for the Sportage pickup should also not exceed two million rubles.
