As you know, Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento share one platform. Therefore, it is not surprising that both cars are equipped with the same engines and have similar dimensions. But, as it turned out, there is a significant difference between these models. However, in a detailed comparison, the Kia Sorento looks better than the Hyundai Santa Fe. Moreover, this difference becomes more noticeable in hybrid versions of crossovers.
Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV
The Kia Sorento PHEV should go on sale in the US market soon. Thanks to this, the detailed characteristics of the Korean novelty became known. According to the published results of the car certification in the United States, the hybrid Sorento is capable of traveling on electric traction up to 52 kilometers. For a similar Hyundai Santa Fe, this parameter is slightly more than 48 kilometers. This difference is remarkable in that both crossovers are equipped with the same battery with a capacity of 13.8 kWh.

Interestingly, the Sorento proved to be more economical compared to its direct competitor. This hybrid model consumes on average almost 3 liters of fuel. The Sorento PHEV is based on a new 1.6-liter turbocharged engine. Its maximum power reaches 177 hp. A 90-horsepower electric motor is supplied with this unit, which provides connection to the rear wheels. Together, both motors deliver up to 261 hp. power. Together with them comes a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Kia Sorento PHEV
The hybrid Sorento is not officially supplied to Russia. In our country, the Korean crossover is offered with 2, 5 and 3.5-liter "aspirated" engines, as well as with a 2.2-liter turbodiesel.
