Concern Jaguar Land Rover several weeks ago announced a large-scale electrification of the entire model range, which will eventually leave the market for several cars of the British manufacturer. But, apparently, something in his plans has changed. JLR recently announced that the new Jaguar XJ will not hit the market. Moreover, the car is almost ready by now: its pre-production prototype has already been tested on public highways. Now it became known that JLR is refusing from two more announced new products.

The fact is that Jaguar and Land Rover are facing a sharp decline in demand for their products. Over the past year, sales of the first company fell by 37%, the second - by 24%. This is forcing the British manufacturer to cut its lineup by a quarter. However, it was not only the decline in sales that prompted JLR to abandon the two new vehicles. The British manufacturer recently announced that it has completed the development of an MLA platform for electric models. This means that the new Jaguar J-Pace crossover, which was announced a few weeks earlier, will not hit the market.

However, Land Rover also intends to abandon the development of the Road Rover SUV. Moreover, this model was originally intended to be made electric. The explanation for this decision lies in the announcement that JLR made today: the development of the MLA platform has been suspended. According to rumors, this is due to a lack of funding. Jaguar Land Rover is currently seeking outside investors to help develop the new MLA platform.

The published information indicates a serious crisis for the British manufacturer, as well as that it may not fulfill the recently announced plan. According to him, the Jaguar Land Rover concern will switch its entire model range to electricity by 2025.
