Jaguar intends to enter a new premium car segment. This should happen by 2025, when the British manufacturer will completely abandon traditional ICE models in favor of electric cars. This information was confirmed by representatives of Jaguar. They said they plan to completely rethink the brand's positioning in the market and enter a segment in which they will compete with Bentley and Aston Martin models.
The current version of the sedan
As part of its previously released development strategy, Jaguar intends to phase out all current models. To create fundamentally new cars built on its own platform, the British manufacturer will allocate about 3.48 billion dollars in investment. The future trolley, on which part of the funds will be spent, will be unique: Jaguar has no plans to use it on Land Rover SUVs.
New Jaguar XJ
This statement is supported by the decision of the British manufacturer to abandon the release of the new XJ sedan, despite the fact that the car is almost ready. Representatives of the British brand explained that this model does not correspond to the chosen positioning strategy of Jaguar. At the same time, the company noted that they are considering the possibility of keeping the XJ sedan among their products. However, the future car with this name will have a unique design.
In addition, Jaguar added that all planned new items will be decorated in a style that does not in any way resemble the current products of the British brand. However, representatives of the company did not report any specific details about the upcoming electric cars.
