Before considering this British novelty, it is worth noting immediately that, as a rule, independent ateliers are engaged in the release of such models, but not at that time. An unusual version of the Jaguar XJ was presented in Geneva at the manufacturer's official stand. It was developed by one of the company's divisions, whose specialists are engaged in the restoration of cars and their tuning.

So, at the event, the classic version of the sedan was shown, which rolled off the assembly line back in 1984. The car belongs to an American drummer, so the Briton is equipped with a left-hand drive and special lighting devices (in the United States, right-hand traffic operates, and in Britain, right-hand traffic). Interestingly, the model was initially in good condition, but designers and engineers worked on it especially for the exhibition, bringing it to perfection.
After the restoration, the car received updated bumpers made of plastic, enlarged wheel arches in which 18-inch tires fit perfectly, but the handles and mirrors were painted in chrome, which is not typical for a car of this year of production. Models were equipped with chrome elements in 1973-1979. The optics work only on LED elements, and engineers have completely changed the shock absorbers of the new item. These improvements have a positive impact on the ride quality.

Also, the designers have completely "redrawn" the interior of the sedan, or rather its soft elements, for example, armchairs and door trim. Inside, a powerful audio setup and a touchscreen infotainment system have been added, which looks very unusual for a retro sedan. The complex is also equipped with a navigator and a camera for a circular view. For comfort, a split system and central locking were installed.
The British decided to leave the technical stuffing unchanged. Under the hood is the same 4.2-liter gasoline engine. In principle, it fits well with modern standards.

It is worth noting that this version of the cars was displayed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Jaguar XJ. The company will celebrate the anniversary this year. Until that moment, the retro version will be on the honorary stand, and then it will be sent back to its rightful owner. Of course, no one plans to resume production of a car in this design, however, as you know, for a separate fee and by special order, everything is possible.
