Despite the fact that the popularity of sedans and liftbacks is nowhere near what it was 5-10 years ago, a number of models are still bestsellers on the market. These include Toyota Camry, Hyundai Elantra, KIA Cerato. Late last year, Chinese automaker JAC unveiled the new J7 liftback, which has caught the attention of car enthusiasts around the world with its stylish looks. This car is already available for purchase in dealerships in Russia, but given the fact that not everyone has information about the new product, our experts decided to take a closer look at the capabilities of the "Chinese", showing it in a video review on the YouTube channel.
Experts believe that this model is able to compete successfully not only with the more budgetary KIA Cerato and Hyundai Elantra, but even with such a bestseller as the Skoda Octavia. At the same time, the price of a Chinese novelty starts at 959 thousand rubles, which makes its purchase extremely profitable.
Among the advantages of the "Chinese" over competitors, experts call its level of equipment. The car, even in the basic version, is equipped with LED optics, 17-inch alloy wheels, heated electric mirrors, a set of airbags, an electric multifunction steering wheel, a full set of power windows, parking sensors, air conditioning, a multimedia system with a 10.4-inch display, a curtain for the trunk, a set of safety assistants …
In the top version, the liftback is supplemented with cruise and climate control systems, a leather interior, a start of the power unit with a button, a sunroof, rain / light sensors, the ability to start the engine remotely.
The car has a fairly spacious interior. The dimensions of its body are 4775x1820x1492 mm, and the distance between the axles is 2760 mm. The main drawback of the liftback is the clearance, which is only 125 mm.
From the point of view of controllability, the liftback is quite good and reacts quite clearly to any movement with the steering wheel. But it is not at all recommended to drive it off the asphalt, in view of the completely frivolous ground clearance. JAC J7 is not overly high-spirited, and spends about 11 seconds to accelerate to the first "hundred". Average gas mileage is about 7.5 liters per 100 kilometers.
The exterior of the car can be distinguished, since the specialists who previously created the Maserati models worked on its design. In the exterior there is a mass of chrome, which adds liveliness and juiciness to the car, and the radiator grill and narrowed head optics give it brutality and rapacity in the look. The interior is full of modern technological solutions, and the interior, due to the two-tone finish, looks quite stylish and modern.
A liftback is available on the Russian market, which is assembled on the territory of Kazakhstan, at the facilities of the SaryarkaAvtoProm automobile plant.
