The compact SUV S5, produced by the Chinese automaker JAC, is leaving the Russian car market for the second time in its history. The crossover, which was perceived by many experts and motorists as a model capable of competing with the South Korean bestseller Hyundai Creta, cannot gain a foothold in our country. And if for the first time the sales of the Chinese SUV representative were suspended due to the fact that the plant in the city of Cherkessk, where its production was established, was closed, now the radical decision was made by the automaker for a completely different reason - the lack of serious demand from buyers.

According to analysts of the domestic market, at the moment the cross is no longer available in the dealerships of the capital, and in most regions it is also impossible to purchase a car. The manufacturer itself did not include this model in the delivery plan for the Russian car market. Therefore, we can conclude that the management has made a decision to curtail the sales of the compact cross.

As you know, the model, which was supplied to the territory of the Russian Federation from the assembly line of the Kazakh automobile plant "SaryarkaAvtoProm", was equipped with two possible options for power units: an atmospheric engine with a capacity of 136 hp, or a turbo engine with a capacity of 150 "horses". Regardless of the type of equipment, the car was equipped with a manual transmission and a front-wheel drive system.

The price for the Chinese compact-cross was very attractive - 1, 1 million rubles. However, this did not bring popularity to the SUV. As a result, for the entire last year, the manufacturer managed to sell only 134 JAC S5 models. A consequence of such weak results was the refusal to supply cross-country cross to the Russian market.
