Restyling, after which a new version of the 2020 Jaguar XE entered the market, affected almost all the main characteristics of the model. The British sedan, competing with the BMW 3-Series and Audi A5, now comes with two turbo petrol and one turbo diesel engines, which are combined only with automatic transmission, and in the top versions - also with four-wheel drive. The Jaguar XE stands out for its enviable driving dynamics. But at the same time, the British model can offer customers a comfortable salon with a multimedia complex and a 2-zone climate, a high level of security, which provides an extensive list of systems. This list for a surcharge is increased by premium equipment that makes the sedan more attractive.
Options and prices
The 2020 Jaguar XE sedan that came to Russia has been seriously redesigned. However, the British sedan received only a new body, which, according to published photos, made the car more attractive. The improvements made led to minor changes in the previously available trim levels and prices. At the same time, the manufacturer slightly corrected the technical characteristics of its own model, removing some of the top motors.
S
The starting equipment S is offered for 2, 845 million rubles. For this amount, a rear-wheel drive Jaguar XE 2020 with a turbodiesel engine is available. It is noteworthy that, despite the presence of a "heavy" fuel engine, the car is equipped with a Start / Stop system. This combination is difficult to find in modern cars. In addition to this, you can find in the initial modification:
- 18-inch aluminum rims;
- parking brake with electronic control;
- LED optics placed in a circle;
- headlights with light sensor;
- windscreen wipers with rain sensor;
- side mirrors with electric heating and servo drive;
- multifunctional steering wheel with heating and leather trim;
- on-board computer with a color screen on the dashboard;
- engine start button.
In the initial configuration, the manufacturer included several options to ensure a comfortable driving of the Jaguar XE. These include a multimedia complex with a 10-inch touchscreen monitor and a navigation module, a separate air conditioning system for 2 zones, front and rear parking sensors, as well as heated front seats with an electric drive that can memorize preset settings.
Nominally, along with the British model, there are 6 airbags and standard systems such as warning of locking brakes and wheel slip, high beam control, keeping speed and in the lane, help when starting on a hill, recognition of road signs. There are also sensors available to the car that monitor the driver's condition and the level of pressure in the wheels.
The optional equipment list, offered already with the starting version of the sedan, includes:
- luggage door servo with contactless opening function;
- electric sunroof;
- projection screen;
- keyless door opening system;
- heated second row of seats;
- adaptive cruise;
- equipment controlling "blind" areas;
- a collision avoidance system that stops the sedan if necessary.
The Jaguar XE is equipped with a rear camera as standard. For a surcharge, you can also get side and front. By default, all seats inside the sedan are trimmed with genuine leather.
SE
The SE version, estimated at 2.99 million rubles, is presented in two modifications. For the indicated amount, a sedan with a turbodiesel is offered. For the appearance of all-wheel drive, you will have to pay 117 thousand rubles. And the installation of a 249-horsepower turbo engine costs an additional 188 thousand rubles. The difference in the equipment list between this and the basic trim level is that the sedan in this version comes with a keyless entry system.
R-Dynamic S
This equipment is offered only with the basic technical part. In contrast to other modifications, the R-Dynamic S version contains gearshift paddles and a suspension reconfigured for a sport mode.
R-Dynamic SE
This configuration, prices for which start at 3, 154 million rubles, is offered with the same set of engines as the SE version. Moreover, the 2020 Jaguar XE in this version is equipped with the same equipment that is offered with the previous version of the sedan.
R-Dynamic HSE
The R-Dynamic HSE with a starting motor costs just over 3.4 million rubles. Having paid 378 thousand rubles, the buyer will receive a 2020 Jaguar XE with a 300-horsepower turbocharged engine. The main difference between this version and the previous ones is that the former has 19-inch wheels, adaptive cruise control and a premium audio system.

Specifications
The British model is based on a platform that provides for the placement of a fully independent suspension: front double wishbone and rear multi-link. Until recently, the Jaguar XE was also offered with a manual gearbox, but now it is equipped exclusively with an 8-speed "automatic".
In the initial versions, the car is equipped with a 2-liter turbocharged diesel engine. The engine provides 180 hp. useful power and 430 N * m of thrust. This is enough to disperse the sedan to "hundreds" in 8.1 seconds. On average, a turbodiesel consumes 4.2 liters of fuel. The introduction of all-wheel drive changes the indicated indicators by 0.5 seconds and 0.5 liters, respectively.
In the more expensive versions of the British sedan, there is a gasoline turbocharged engine of the same volume with a maximum output reaching 249 hp. Its torque is 365 N * m. In combination with a plug-in all-wheel drive Jaguar XE with such a motor gains 100 km / h in 6.5 seconds, consuming about 6, 8 liters of gasoline.
The top engine is the same 2-liter turbo unit. But its maximum output was brought to the level of 300 hp, torque - up to 400 N * m. The increase in power has led to the fact that acceleration to 100 km / h now takes about 5.7 seconds with an average fuel consumption of 6, 9 liters.
Design
Despite the fact that the company Jaguar during the last restyling made stylistic changes to the exterior design of the XE sedan, all the improvements are clearly visible. In particular, after the modernization, the head optics of the car was lengthened, which practically rests against the proprietary radiator grille with a fine mesh. Large enough for such a sedan, the front bumper has acquired extended air intakes with rounded edges. The extended bonnet, large wheel arches and sidewall remain unchanged.
A number of improvements made by the manufacturer are visible on the stern. At the back, there are new LED lights with an original protrusion at the bottom. As before, there is a spoiler on the tailgate, and the bumper at the rear is complemented by round exhaust pipes that are spaced out to the sides.
The main change in the cabin is the appearance of a standard gearshift lever, which replaced the washer. Otherwise, all improvements are subtle. The British sedan retained the firm's air conditioning unit with large washers, a wide-display dashboard and a standard steering wheel. The transmission tunnel is visually integrated with the center console by means of a metal insert laid along the perimeter.
Start of sales
An updated version of the Jaguar XE entered the Russian market in the first half of 2019. The car comes from the UK.
