Some time ago, JAC and Volkswagen organized a new brand SOL, under which they planned to produce electric cars. However, until now, this brand has been used only in the production of one car. This is explained by the fact that Volkswagen almost immediately bought out the rights to SOL, intending to use this brand for its future electric cars based on the MEB platform.
As a result, in 2020 JAC launched its own sub-brand Sehol, one of the first novelties of which, the E40X electric crossover, entered the home market. This model is offered at a price of 130 thousand yuan (1.49 million rubles). Sehol E40X stands out for its non-standard appearance against the background of not only JAC products, but also other compact crossovers.
The Chinese novelty is equipped with a long and narrow headlight headlamp, stretching under the edge of the hood, and a large bumper, which provides a wide cutout with built-in blocks of additional lights and an air intake. At the same time, the salon is decorated in a fairly standard style. However, JAC offered Sehol E40X buyers leather seats, a virtual instrument panel and a touchscreen monitor.
It is stated that the Chinese novelty is equipped with only one electric motor, which is located on the front axle. Its maximum power reaches 150 hp. with a torque of 340 N * m. Acceleration to 100 km / h in an electric crossover takes about 9, 7 seconds, and the maximum speed is artificially limited at around 150 km / h. The novelty is offered with two batteries with a capacity of 55 and 66 kWh. The total power reserve is 420 and 502 kilometers, respectively. In addition, JAC provides a lifetime warranty for the electric drivetrain that powers the Sehol E40X.
