The new Renault 5 electric concept car is officially unveiled at the 2021 Munich Motor Show. This model was previously a conventional three-door hatchback that was sold in the European market from 1970 to 1985. Now this motorsport legend will be reborn as an all-electric car.

Compared to the slim and slender original Renault 5, the electric concept car is noticeably fuller. At the same time, the show car uses larger wheel rims combined with very prominent lines on the front and rear fenders, and the overall visual effect gives the impression of a fairly powerful car.

In the details of the body shape, the engineers decided to pay tribute to the designers of the classic Renault 5. For example, this applies to the front of the car. It consists of a large number of flat straight lines and rectangles, reminiscent of the bumper and headlights of the first generation Renault 5, created by Michel Bouet.

The design of the rear of the new car will not delight the fans of the classic car in any way. Inheriting the C-pillar angle and straight aft door from the first generation Renault 5, the overall shape of the lamps also takes inspiration from the old model. They differ only in the height and structure of the LED light source. The new car's lights are also connected by two LED strips running through the tailgate. The right one is decorated with the Renault diamond logo and the number 5. In fact, there are many "5" elements on the concept car. Owners of the new model will surely spend a few exciting minutes looking for every five.

As for the interior and details about the power of the new car, the company has not yet disclosed any additional information. In addition, Renault also announced in its press conference that it plans to launch 7 new purely electric products by 2025. As a small electric vehicle, the new Renault 5 could replace the Zoe.
