Renault, after several months of active testing, introduced the new Megane E-Tech electric crossover. The car visually resembles a hatchback due to its compact size. The design for the novelty was copied from the Renault eVision concept, which debuted last year.

The Megane E-Tech is based on the same CMF-EV platform on which the Nissan Aryia electric crossover is based. Note that the second model will soon enter the Russian market. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that Renault will later bring its new product to our country.

For the first time, the Megane E-Tech will be available with 40 and 60 kWh batteries. It is reported that the second battery will be able to provide a range of 470 kilometers. This figure is slightly higher than that previously announced by Renault. By default, the Megane E-Tech is equipped with only one electric motor, which is mounted on the front axle. Its maximum net power can reach 215 hp. Renault has yet to confirm this information, however.

Despite belonging to the class of electric cars, the French novelty is equipped with many physical keys located under a large touchscreen monitor. Also, the electric crossover received a virtual instrument panel and a square steering wheel. Each of the above solutions is becoming more and more popular with modern cars. In particular, a huge tablet is now installed on almost all electric cars, including budget ones. The production of the French novelty will be set up in the first half of next year. Renault has not yet named the markets to which the Megane E-Tech will be supplied.
