The new generation of the French crossover Renault Duster made its debut on the Russian market only this year, and in some countries, including Brazil, the car went on sale a little earlier. However, practically nothing was known about the degree of its reliability and safety. Therefore, it was decided to test the SUV as part of the Latin NCAP crash tests.

At the same time, the European version of the cross was tested by specialists in the fall of 2019, who rated the safety demonstrated by the car at full four stars, which is a pretty decent indicator.

As for the version that is assembled in Brazil, they have a number of differences from the European SUV. First of all, it has no airbags as standard. As a result of participating in the Latin NCAP test, the French crossover received a score of zero.

One of the main reasons why experts recognized the new generation of Renault Duster as an absolutely unsafe model was the overturning of the car. This happened during a crash test and resulted in a fuel leak. This fact is an extremely serious problem, therefore, experts demanded that the French manufacturer immediately recall the released model.

In addition, there were problems with a side impact. Latin NCAP specialists recommended that the developer carry out work with opening doors in such an accident, since the passenger risks simply falling out of the car.
