Early Sandero 2022 belongs to the subcompact car category. It first rolled off the assembly line since 2007, now the second generation restyling is being sold. The hatchback is built on the chassis of the equally famous Renault Logan. This at least speaks of potential reliability and that the car is perfectly suited for operation in conditions of not always high-quality Russian roads. Externally elegant and modern Sandero is combined with a rustic interior. In conditions of inflation and the growth of the dollar exchange rate, the cost for the cheapest version reached 743,000 rubles. Buyers for this money get a 1.6-liter engine with a manual transmission. In total, the automaker offers three versions of the motor. The more powerful ones produce 102 and 113 horsepower, respectively. Interestingly, Renault got rid of one configuration, leaving only two.
Specifications
Renault Sandero 2022 in a new body is offered on the Russian market in two trim levels. They differ in price and technical characteristics. You can find a photo of the model in our article.

The car is equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, which is offered in three power options. The weakest version produces 82 hp. and 134 N * m of torque. Maximum speed and acceleration to match the power - 163 km / h and 13, 9 seconds to "hundreds". The engine is combined with a five-speed manual transmission.

The more powerful version has already received 102 horsepower. The motor torque is 145 N * m. Also, the maximum speed has slightly increased - up to 171 km / h, and it takes 11, 9 seconds to accelerate to 100 km / h. As for the transmission, in this case, a four-speed "automatic" is installed. Note that fuel consumption increases significantly. In an 82-horsepower unit on "mechanics" in the combined cycle, it is 7.1 liters per 100 km. Here, a “hundred” requires 8, 6 liters of gasoline.

And finally, the most powerful engine develops 113 horsepower. Together with it, the maximum speed of the car increases to 177 km / h. Acceleration 0-100 km / h is achieved in 10.7 seconds. The motor is combined with a five-speed manual transmission. In addition to decent dynamics by the standards of the segment, this version receives a combined cycle consumption of 6, 6 liters per 100 km.

Dimensions Renault Sandero 2022 are as follows: length - 4070 mm, width - 1733 mm, height - 1523 mm. The wheelbase is 2589 mm. With this size, it is convenient to maneuver around the city and park, but there is another side to the coin. Some owners note that there is not enough space in the back. And the trunk is objectively small. Its volume is only 320 liters. If you unfold the rear row of seats, you get a platform for 1996 liters.

Options and prices
As we said above, there are fewer trim levels. Previously, there were three of them, but Renault decided to reduce the list to two. Since they are the most affordable, the conclusion suggests itself that the top-end configuration was not in demand and they decided to forget about it.

Access
The Access package is estimated at 743,000 rubles. It is noteworthy that this option is available only in combination with an 82-horsepower engine. Let's list what is in the basic configuration:
- rear fog lights and LED running lights;
- factory tinting (manufacturer's option);
- heated rear window;
- interior fabric upholstery;
- seat adjustment in two directions;
- central locking;
- driver's airbag;
- ERA-GLONASS (option);
- ABS and EBD;
- audio training;
- mirrors in sun visors;
- full size spare wheel.

Obviously, this configuration cannot be called equipped. There is no audio system (but the audio preparation will help you easily install it), no power windows, or a number of other functions that have long seemed mundane. But these are the realities.

Life
Renault Sandero 2022 in the second and last configuration gets much more than in the basic Access. The cost of this version with an 82-horsepower engine starts at 820,000 rubles. Modification with a 102 hp motor. and automatic transmission is estimated at 935,000 rubles. A complete set with the most powerful (113 horsepower) and economical engine will cost 880,000 rubles. The transmission in the latter case is mechanical. Life configuration includes:
- front fog lights;
- body-colored door handles and side mirrors;
- understudy indicators of repetition on the side mirrors;
- radiator grill with chrome trim;
- vertical steering wheel adjustment;
- outside temperature sensor;
- chrome trim elements on the dashboard;
- 4 headrests (the fifth is available as an option);
- front power windows;
- front passenger airbag.

Also available in the richest configuration at the moment:
- passenger airbag with deactivation function;
- electric heating and electric drive of mirrors;
- Cruise control;
- air conditioner;
- radio, CD player, MP3 support, Hands Free and 4 speakers;
- USB and AUX;
- 7-inch monitor and navigation system;
- on-board computer;
- luggage compartment lighting;
- Renault Start remote engine start system.

As we can see, Life is already richer, but there are too many options for which you have to pay separately. This is how the initial cost of the package inflates. Also note that the Life with an 82-horsepower engine is slightly poorer than the options with more powerful engines. Some of the functions available with 102- and 113-horsepower units, again come at an additional cost.

Safety
The most recent crash test was conducted by the Latin NCAP committee in 2018. Accordingly, samples for the Latin American and Caribbean markets were tested. The car did poorly, two airbags did not help to bypass the predecessor. Crash test result: 18.01 points out of 34 for a frontal impact and 9.75 points out of 16 for a side impact. This is equivalent to one star. But children in the event of an accident should be more lucky: 28, 97 points out of 49. This is clearly better - three stars out of five. The anti-lock braking system and stability control are responsible for safety, which does not allow the driver to lose control over the car. And, of course, 4 pillows, if the equipment is appropriate.

Handling and off-road performance
The Renault Sandero 2022 doesn’t have such powerful engines to guarantee a flamboyant ride. However, the 113-horsepower unit provides good dynamics (10, 7 seconds to 100 km / h). It is enough in most cases, including when overtaking on the highway. But weaker engines, especially the 82-horsepower, can become a burden if the driver needs at least some dynamics and power reserve. Small dimensions allow you to maneuver and park without problems in conditions of limited space.

The car is reliable and simple, it is easy and inexpensive to repair it. In its segment, it is an ideal option for Russian roads. High ground clearance (155 mm under load and 172 mm without) and reliable suspension will allow you to go beyond the asphalt and even storm small off-road. Sandero is suitable for driving to the country or fishing.

Advantages and disadvantages
Renault Sandero has plenty of good and bad moments. Moreover, the latter are due, as a rule, to cheapness. Among the advantages, we note:
- high reliability, simplicity, cheap service;
- nice design by the segment's standards;
- high ground clearance and off-road capabilities;
- good handling, the car holds the road well;
- low cost.

Now let's move on to the cons:
- high fuel consumption;
- low-power versions have weak dynamics, the 82-strong version clearly lacks it;
- the most affordable equipment does not include many basic amenities, without which the car feels inferior;
- oversized trunk;
- very poor insulation.
In summary, we can say that we have a car full of advantages and compromises due to the availability of Sandero.

Design
Renault Sandero looks like the average city dweller. Modern, discreet, somewhat austere and slightly elegant. Of course, the brother in the face of Renault Logan is recognizable in appearance. There are many smooth, rounded lines on the body. At the front there is a false radiator grill with chrome trims.

Inside, the model looks even more modest, at its price tag. Of course, the interior depends on the equipment. At the very least, the presence of an audio system and a multimedia display adds a sense of manufacturability and aspiration to the future, which greatly spoils the basic configuration, where there are not even speakers and power windows. In the back row, adult passengers are likely to be cramped. On long journeys, it is even more likely that there will not be enough luggage compartment volume. In general, Renault Sandero looks simple and discreet, which is not a minus, given the price category.

Sales start
The car entered the market in the summer of 2018.

Competitors
Renault Sandero falls into the category of budget cars, and in theory many models can be written into its competitors. However, some cars have left the market, while others are significantly more expensive. Therefore, among the main ones we will single out:
- Kia Picanto;
- Lada XRAY.
